Electric Shuffle Conveyor Details

Electric Shuffle Conveyor Systems, or Shuttle Conveyor Systems, provide solutions for scrap management at the press. Managing scrap at the press yields improvements in press availability and throughput, with reduced operating costs.

Each conveyor is delivered to you as a complete unit. This includes a control box, manual and fastening bolts for mounting the transporter and feeding tray.

Up Line 400/20 Step Feeder – For Vertical Transportation

Step Feeders are perfect for gentle feeding and delivering of parts for automatic assembly, automatic inspection, automated sorting, or secondary operations.

The Up Line step feeder features a ‘double action’ movement. This means every step moves up and down alternately with high capacity. Built-in deliver sensor, for every output, makes interfacing to most PLCs or manufacturing machines easy.

The Up Line machine housing is stainless steel, and the steps are in FDA-compliant Azethal plastic. The magazine can be customised.

Up Line Step Feeders are extensively used within the automotive industry for the feeding and presentation of larger and heavier components which are typically outside the capabilities of vibratory bowl feeder.

 

Feeding Trays

This unique technology offers an unconventional solution for conveying by focussing on handling material instead of moving heavy feeding trays. As a result, conveying of goods is often much more effective.

With regards to the 12 kg resp. 4 kg and 2 kg attached weights of these conveyors (The summed weight includes feeding trays, bars, fasteners etc.); We recommend a maximum of 1 mm material thickness for a feeding tray. The linear motion eliminates the risk of exposing feeding tray material to stress by vibrations. However, to achieve extra stability use sliding elements.

Standard material

We provide ready-to-use standard feeding trays in your required length and width. The single trays are mounted upon the conveyor with fasteners; which are supplied.

 

Special Feeding Trays – Further Applications

We can also supply feeding trays in other materials. For example, smooth steel sheet, perforated metal, plastic, non-stick/ceramic coated steel, tempered glass or Lexan etc. Here are some examples of feeding trays that can be used for more than conveying:

The Multi Tray Scrap Shaker

The Multi Tray Scrap Shaker, sometimes known as the Vibratory Scrap Shaker or the Electro Mechanical Scrap Shaker is the ideal solution for linear scrap removal from all types of presses.

The principle behind the Vibratory Conveyor or scrap transporter utilizes the ‘table cloth effect’ a slow acceleration in the forward stroke (material is transported forward) and a rapid return stroke material will remain stationary), so ensuring movement in one direction only.

Due to its compact design, the Vibratory Scrap Shaker may be installed in confined, congested areas. Unlike many other transporters, shuttles or traditional conveyors, the Vibratory Scrap Shaker does not need to be in close proximity to the tool. The scrap removal trays pass under the tools and onto the occulting beam and clear of the tooling.
The control equipment and isolator (supplied) can be mounted at a covenient point close to the scrap shaker (Vibratory Conveyor).
The Vibratory Scrap Conveyor or linear scrap transporter can be used with a long single tray stretching some 10 metres or more depending on width, but is also adaptable for multi-tray installations, such as in the example top right Multiple Trays. The Vibratory Conveyors simple, robust and flexible design ensures safety, reliability, efficiency and cost effective choice.

The Vibratory Scrap Conveyor is easily adaptable to meet your requirements. A selection of trays can be mounted on the unit. Common ‘low profile’ trays can be used for different tools and applications. The length of the trays presents no problem. If using trays over 3 metres, linear bearing supports can be provided.
Models available for press bolster widths from 200mm to 6,000mm

The Vibratory Conveyor transports parts along an assembly line or removes scrap from beneath machine tools, especially suited where conventional conveyors cannot be used. (Low profile trays).

The concept of the electro mechanical Vibratory Conveyor or linear scrap transporter was inspired by the needs of the pressing and stamping industry to employ a robust, silent, reliable, safe and effective way to automate material removal from the underside of press tools and dies.

Today, the Vibratory Conveyors or Multi Tray Scrap Shakers can be found in many other applications which are ideally suited for this method of transportation such as in casting, foundry, machine tools and pharmaceutical industries. Many of which have replaced conventional belt conveyors.
